Rain drops on roses, whiskers on kittens, bright copper… Oh. Sorry. I digress. I grew up in a family where we broke into some related and probably very corny song at every opportunity. Occasionally I flash back. Ok…on to the topic at hand.

Coffee. Really good, strong coffee.

Best thing on earth. I stand corrected…not always the best, but it does rank right up there with chocolate, peanut butter, and a few things I am probably forgetting right now. From her visual therapy (very successful therapy) I realized why reading was (and still can be) difficult for me. If you have a child who struggles with reading, do whatever you can to get them the extra support they need. Ignore anyone who says they’ll outgrow it.

Even without formal therapy, I did benefit immensely from summer school. After that I read voraciously. I loved Nancy Drew mysteries. (They are still in a box in the attic. I hope.) I don’t get to read as much as I would like now, but I try.
